Let's play a game! (you gotta read the thread... It's too much to explain here! lol)

Ok, here's my idea. When you look around on various aftermarket parts sites, you see claims of "this part will add 8-15hp!" When you get it, you KNOW you MAYBE got 3... SO, let's shop around and find the best claims! Think we can get an F22A6 to make over 200hp with bolt-ons?

The only things that aren't allowed are Ebay ECU chips and anything resembling the Spiralmax!

Find the part, take the high end of the manufacturer's claim (since that's what optimistic people REALLY see when they buy) and put it on the 140hp of the A6. Be sure to say what part it is! Providing a link is even better.

pulley set that has been reported to have a 28 hp increase! Woohoo!

BTW, are we allowing Nitrous systems as well?

With mine and the above guys, we are already up to 184 hp! Let's push the goal hp up a little more, say 275? Just a suggestion.

No nitrous, no cheezy miracle parts... just normal NA bolt-on parts. Turbo, nitrous, and other stuff like that is too variable to use in this game. You can say "55psi on a HUGE turbo... 2000hp! plus a 500 shot!"... no. NA bolt-ons only, or it won't be fun .

Perhaps later on when we exhaust the possibilities here we can move on to the crazier things...

        Here's my creation:

        F22A6 - 140hp
        AEM CAI - 15hp
        UR Pulley set - 15hp
        DC Sports header - 12hp
        Greddy exhaust system - 15hp
        Nology Hotwires - 7hp (5% increase)
Denso Iridium spark plugs - 3hp

Those mods add 67hp... Effectively making my F22A6 a 207hp BEAST!!!

I just found this thread... figured I'd bump it up and see if anyone wanted to play the Manufacturer Claim Game. (only took me 5 years to name it!)

Yes, this post is from 2005.

Not an off the shelf part and has dyno charts to back up its claim. Therefore not eligible for the game here.

Eh, it could be. It doesn't necessarily have to be outrageous claims... especially since the very real claims made by Bisimoto far exceed even the outrageous claims made by other header companies...

Overall, my intention with this was to laugh at all the "this will give you X amount of horsepower" when you totalled it all up. A 60hp gain from a bunch of cheap-ish bolt-on mods is rather laughable, when you know people are making no more than half that in most cases.

Okay. Let's make a list of bolt ons. Although I may miss some things, I'm sure the community will add. These all may not add HP, but they may help with whatever.

                    Air filter.
                    Intake.
                    Headers.
                    Muffler.
                    Resonator.
                    Catalytic Converter.
                    Spark Plugs.
                    Wires.
                    Ignition System (Distributor, Ignition, etc.).
                    Thermostat.
                    Fuel Pump.
                    Head Gasket.
                    Pullies.
                    ECU.

Whether or not they actually add hp doesn't matter... it's what the manufacturer SAYS they add!

                          Yeah, I understand that concept.

I will now look for those bolt ons that claim they add X amount of HP from different companies. I know realistically it's near impossible, but it should still be hilarious.
