Anyone trying out Windows 8?

free developers edition is out, im on the 32 bit version because i can't get past the driver signatures for my usb wifi. my hardware is too old so my Ethernet controller has no drivers

I have Windows 8 developer preview 64 bit on virtualbox. Networking isn't working correctly for me. I'm really not that impressed with 8, though.

Still won't touch windows 7.....is 8 supposed to add something else useless? The most solid running PC in my house is still the PII 400 running windows 98 down in my garage. I will not give Microsoft another dime as long as they keep up with the shyte they are putting out.

win8 is a big improvement on my pc. the xp sp3 was running so fucking slow and my buddy showed me win 8 on his machine and it is blazing fast.

win 8 is geared more for apps. my dad's 7 is amazing and stable. this is a pre beta version so some stuff is going to be buggy but i dont care. it was free and way faster than my last setup. eventually ill be upgrading but as long as i can access internet and play youtube then i dont care. when it comes time to play games, then ill be installing 7 with hardware upgrades.

I don't like the new menu. It's ridiculous. Everything g else is 7 revamped.

Is it sad that I'd rather use Android OS on my Windows pc than Windows?

the new menu is trying to become more app based but atm, it's way too unorganized. i don't even use it..i just goto the desktop. im sure there will be more revisions.

So if win 8 is suppose to be more geared towards touch screens and stuff, do you think itd worth it to buy a fujitsu p1610 laptop and install it on there? I saw one on CL last night for 120 but im sure i could talk them down a little.. i read the specs for win8 and this thing jas just the right amount to run the 32bit version. Anyhow the fujitsu is a laptop where the screen flips down to be basically a tablet running at 1.2ghz but i think its a single core cpu with 1gig max of ram and integrated video. Id just want to use to mess around with win8 and to watch netflix.

I dont mind that. I just wanted to tinker around qith something.

*well never mind on that laptop. After looking around on Ebay, there are so many better ones for just a few bucks more.
