Last I was told by Pandemic, there would be no data loss... so it's possible that we may still get our 2 months back. However, I don't see why he would reopen the site for posting now (because everything we're doing now will be gone if we return the last 2 months...)
I'm still waiting on the official word from him about that.
Maybe he got it back up and running on the Oct. 14 image, looked at and thought "good enough for now, it's running, I'm going to bed".

If he brings in the missing data from a more recent backup, it's possible everything we've posted now could vanish

It's 100% certain everything posted now will vanish. We'd be reloading an entirely different file.

However, the reason for the October reversion is that it's the newest backup we have. Something went wrong in November, and either we didn't take a backup, or the backup process failed, and none of us realized it. Pandemic usually pulls a backup directly from the server, since the vBulletin in-software backup won't work properly on a database of this size, and then he emails me a link. Whatever happened in November, neither one of us said "hey, we need a November backup!"
I had just called for a December backup literally hours before the site went down. I doubt Pandemic even saw that message before it happened.

Now we get to watch and laugh as people answer all the 2 month old questions...

100% certain. Do you know when the switch will happen?

There may not be a switch. If this old backup was loaded, we may have lost the data afterall. Until I hear from Pandemic, I won't know for sure.
But yeah, if we reload the proper data from 2 weeks ago, all this new stuff goes bye bye.

It's great to have the site back. For those whiners out there, be thankful we have a forum at all. A two-month data loss is hardly shabby.
