Kids can be cruel. There's a reason I never wanted to be a teacher, or do ANYTHING working with kids between the ages of 11 and 15. Adolescent teasing always infuriated me (probably explains a good number of the fights I got in as a kid), and to this day I don't deal well with it. Not to the point of choking a kid... that dude is just a moron... but I understand that level of pissedoffedness.

No, I stopped fueling the fire when I was 16. I just ignore it (or at least TRY to) and walk away.

When I started dating my ex, I was 18. I wore a shirt and tie to public school, because it was cool (hey, ska was in... it WAS cool!) Anyway, her brother's little friend said "you look like you work at Burger King!"... so my nickname among all the 11-12 year old kids in town was "Burger King"... I couldn't walk anywhere in my town (didn't drive until I was 19) without hearing it. It bugged me to no end.
One little kid (about 7) did whack my bike with a golf club, denting the rear wheel (it's still dented) because apparently he wanted a piece of "Burger King". I really should have made him take me to his parents so they could buy me a new wheel... Now, I would. Then, I was just getting out of the "beat the piss out of anyone that irritates me" phase, and I wasn't about to punt a 6 year old across the baseball field!
For the record, I've never worked at Burger King.
