Dumbass didn't smell it? I mean, comeon! I burned my clutch just a little once... there was an anti-abortion protest going on in front of the hospital down the street from my house. Those idiots were yelling at me as I turned the corner (going home, with no intention of getting an abortion...) so I revved as loud as I could. Of course, going around the corner, I was riding the clutch. That smell is unmistakable. I did no noticable damage, but it definitely burned a bit. That moron should have smelled that and known what he was doing... serves him right!

For anyone interested in an Evo....check this out.
There was an article written in the latest Turbo Magazine. Seems the Mitsubishi Evo VIIIs have a huge problem with clutch wear.
At 3,000 miles the clutch goes due to the poor heat transfer of the O.E flywheel from the clutch disk..they actually showed pictures of the damage one basically exploded right into the pressure plate.
Pretty bad if ya ask me though shit.
The Achilles heel of an Evo 8 is its own O.E clutch, worse part the warranty doesn't even cover it, they consider it a 'wear item'.
I found out some pretty interesting stuff about how the tech rebuilt a 2JZ-GTE Supra engine for a turbo setup.
One thing that they did caught my attention as well.
Theres this company called Cyro Science and what they did was pretty cool and really interesting...they took the Ferrea springs and retainers and actually cryogenically treated to which in turn adds more life to each component and strengthens them up alot more.
I thought that was rather cool stuff...pick up the latest issue and read it really interesting stuffHenry R
