Ways to get CHEAP, look-alike shirts?

Theres lots of funny tshirts that I see online that Id enjoy wearing. Most of them have to do with cars, but you get the point.

On CafePress, they are pretty damn expensive. Were talking like $23-27 a shirt, plus a few bucks for shipping. Multiply this by about 10, and youre talking close to $300.

I always see shirts on ebay for like $10-12. I might buy a few, but it seems like the designs I want are always too pricey.


Does anyone know of someone who can copy the design and sell the shirts for cheaper. If companies on Ebay can sell for cheap, others certainly can too, right?


Please dont give me a speech about stealing designs and shit. They could be slightly altered.

I purchase all my cool funny graphic tees from Super Walmart They might not be car related but they do have some fun topics. I love my Hangover T Shirt that has a pic of "Fat Jesus" and says "who's baby is this?".

There are a number of ways... the easiest of which is to buy a screen printing kit, and learn how to do it yourself. Shirts can be had for like $2-$3 at craft stores (goods ones, too!), and the kit will only run you $50 or so. I've always wanted to do it, but never have... so I can't say how difficult it is.

You could always use iron-ons... they're cheap.

Or make a stencil and use fabric paint. I did that years ago to make shirts for my first band. I still have my shirt (ironically, made the day my dad died...)

find the design you want, print it out, then i take it to a store in the mall and pick a shirt out, come back in 20 minutes and they've made the shirt for me. its 30$ a shirt...but its a shirt i know that nobody else will have.

That's a good idea because i have this one shirt that'd i love because of the what is print on the front and i cant it anymore at Kohls.

Basically it says "I have evolutionary skills" and shows a cave many evolving to a guy sitting on a stool playing video games.

Why not save money, and just iron it on yourself. Its simple, and much more cost effective...

Buy a bunch of white t-shirts a box of colored sharpies and your in.

That's the wicked cheap way (yes Im using the Massholisms).

Find a picture of the shirt you want online, and copy it. Plop it in an image editing program, resize it to fit the shirt, and print it out on an iron-on transfer.

Or with the screen prints... yes... you'll want to design it yourself.

So basically... you don't want to pay the price for a mass-market item, but you're hoping someone will recreate it for you in a one-off? That won't be cheaper, my friend...

like deev is saying, i make custom shirts for people, what i did was baught a really good inkjet printer from hp and a heat press, you can use a iron but it doesnt spread even n wont last as long. print your image on transfer paper and heat press it for 7 seconds at 350 digrees n bam you got as many custom shirts as you want.

What sort of transfer is it? Is it plastic iron-on type thing, or is it an ink transfer? That sounds like something I might want to look into myself if it's an ink type deal!
