    A motor

Well im about to buy a motor for my car. I got 3 options

    1. Local salvage yard

$375 after trade in with 30 day guarantee

    2. Better salvage yard

    $635 with 1 year

    3. Take the block out, take it to a machine shop and get the bolt drilled out and retapped.

I say repair what you have. At least you know what's wrong with it. A new motor presents new problems... and even with a warranty, you'll still have to do all the work to remove it if it's bad!

Im not looking for performance. Im looking to go to work.

Il ask the shop next to my work how much they would charge. I tried to drill the bolt out myself, BADDD idea drilled a hole through the block about 3/4 of an inch so using an ez out isnt an option anymore.

In some cases, a low-mileage JDM F22A can be cheaper than a USDM junkyard motor with more miles. Granted, those JDM motors have low miles because they were pulled and stuck on a shelf for the past 10+ years...

What exactly is the problem with your current motor? I'm sure there's a thread about it somewhere, but for those of us that haven't been following... enlighten us.

If you can try to buy it off a member who has one laying around after a swap that way if the motor is running fine after you open it up and check it out you can both benefit from it.

He can hook his car up a lil more or pay off bills while you get his motor and may have some spare shit laying around for it that you can use by networking.

I would aim for a low mileage low end jdm motor honestly. They're generally in good shape and the low end f20a's and f22a's can be had for cheap.

I got my f20a dohc for $450 with a 90 day warranty. I got a little bit of performance and it fits in just like stock without any mods to do.

Heres a decent f22b1 for $475. You get all these extra parts which never hurts plus a 90 day warranty and its a low mileage engine

This is the same company my engine is from
