That is a great, moving, inspirational speech. However, the dark truth is that self preservation is at the core of every living being on this world. Animals steal, fight, and kill just to keep what they can. Humans are no different. While it would be incredible if everyone was able to live freely and love all, it is just not achievable. Millions of years of survival-of-the-fittest evolution will not be bested anytime soon.

Wow I actually used this speech as a intro a couple months ago for a mixtape I am working on. I will put a link up so you can hear what I did
Edit* here is the link to the intro and the first verse of the first song on the mixtape so you can see how it transitions into it. I wanted to keep the intro simple because the speech itself is so good.
You are the first to hear this. The song is not even finished yet let alone the mixtape.

It's somewhat hard to take the speech seriously with that silly ass sig.
"LET US FIGHT FO**beez beez**R A NEW WORL**beez beez**D!!!**beez beez**!!1!!
Regardless, very interesting watch.
When I read the title to this thread, I envisioned something completely parallel to that video (Glenn Gary Glenn Ross Alec Baldwin speech)

Too true about the sig!
I want to watch the full movie now. Apparently, that was Charlie Chaplin's first "talkie". Most countries, including the US, were on peaceful terms with Nazi Germany at the time this movie was made, so the satirical nature of it is even more significant. Chaplin made an entire movie criticizing a dictator that the entire world would eventually come to hate a short time later.
Apparently, Chaplin was a very outspoken person when it came to politics, and often criticized the American way of life (he was British), though he also claimed to love it. He was actually banned from this country at one point as a suspected communist. Wikipedia rules.
