I got pulled over for no front bumper. wtf?

Cop did the right thing by pulling you over. put your bumper on and move on.

cp[mike] is right on the nose with the local bumper requirements. Look it up. If the cop pulled you over, I'm sure there ARE requirements in your area. They make a big deal about height and absorbing impact. Basically, the support needs to be at a proper height to take the majority of the impact when the car is hit... otherwise, it's going to crumple and send your engine back through the firewall, into your lap! The front end of the car is designed to transfer that impact into crumple zones (if so equipped... dunno if that's after the CB7's time), or at least transfer the energy into parts of the frame that can withstand it.

Also, pedestrian safety is a concern. Say you're stopped at a crosswalk, and a little old lady is crossing in front of you. The dumbass coming up behind you is too busy browsing his ipod's Miley Cyrus collection to realize that you're being a good boyscout and letting the old bat waddle across the road. He sees you too late to stop in time, and bumps you. Just a bump. No biggie. Enough to make you roll forward 3 feet. Into Mrs Doubtfire there... Now, a proper bumper would leave a bruise. Your red-hot radiator and jagged metal pieces on the front of a bumperless car will tear her swollen little cankles to shreds!


I don't see what's appealing about the look of a bumperless car, honestly. To me, it looks like the demolition derby just hasn't begun yet! Also, it puts all aerodynamics straight into the pooper.

I mounted mine on using stainless steel bolts, washers and nuts. a lot of them too. I think if the lip was going to come off, the bumper is coming off with it.

mine didnt last a month. I accidentally pulled too far forward and hit one of those bumps that seperate two parking spaces... although they are common as fuck, i waited a long time to find a coupe lip at the jy, so it meant alot to me.

yeah you aren't kidding how hard it was to find a coupe one. I actually got real lucky once and nabbed two of them in the same day. The one i have on now is a sedan so it's a little short on the side which i'm sure you know. I reckon i'll keep that as a back up after i install the coupe one.

yeah, i have a sedan one as well. i cant bring myself to install it though. coupe or bust for legend lips...

the only way to install it. except i used a shitload of wood screws.

also, i got my lip before anyone really knew that the sedan didnt fit right. i just got lucky.

thats not even that bad. i got pulled over because i took a 45degree turn at 30 mph with new tires that were making some noise. which was completely retarted. like hello, this tires are brand new, of course they will make noise lol!

Google search your State's automobile/vehicle statutes/laws. Talk to someone else that has done something similar to what you are considering, ask a cop, ask a traffic lawyer, etc.

Not sure about where you are but many states have vehicle inspections either handled by private companies (mechanics, repair shops, etc) while others have inspection sites that are handled by State Law Enforcement or some kind of State Inspector. I would think at the very least one of those sites could at the very least point you in the right direction of where to look to find your answer, if they are not able to tell you.

cooll thread lol i had my windshield smashed it expired 02 2012 cindy rowe changed my stickers somehow to say 12 12 lol now i came home looked and said huh?? then o well yesterday cop stopped me and said ur stickers look weird sir again he started ranting ur to low ur cars to loud ive been in jail a couple times so my record pretty horrible but its fine i have a great paying job a qc tech so state trooper reached in was grabbing at my stickers insisting they were fake lol they stickin on window hard, he kept yanking ripped the stickers off well half of them lol now i need reinspected but it was funny i laughed whole time o yea at end of it all a teg flew by like 80 in 35mph he ran to his car told me stay and he peeled out the lot. lol ahhahaahhahahh well i waited a few mins then left passed him on way home he had teggy ripped apart even speaker box out he never noticed me. the coksuukka held my license then ran away after teggy he still had them i said o well he can have em lol

I used to get pulled over all the time on the way to work because there was another car just like mine. They would ask if I was so and so place at such a time...I'd say no. This went on for weeks and one morning I got pulled, asked the same question, and explained...there's 2 of these cars. Mines dark blue, his is dark green. Cop told me I was lying and started writing all kind of tickets, it just happened he stopped me infront of a house where the other car was. He kept on and on about iam lying about a 2nd car. When he was about done, I said " you didn't catch me doing anything, so iam getting tickets for stuff people call in on?" Cop said yes, I told him to turn around and look in the driveway. He didn't know what to say when he saw the almost identical looking car. Then I calmly said " you still want to go to court?" No ticket, have a nice day...last time I've was pulled over in that car

I get pulled over in my cb9 every once in a while for suspicion of drunk driving. I explain these shitty road and my big ass wheels don't mix, iam doddging pot holes, them tell him where everyone on the road is...no ticket yet, and no field test. If he wanted a field test, no problem as I never drive after drinking, lost to many friends that way
