I may just be thinking too hard...but

I drive a 92 wagon as a daily, and as you know these cars are getting older and like any other older car, they need work to keep them up to par. Well...My daily isnt going to be kicking too much longer(auto trans..) and im going to need something to drive.

I've been thinking about getting out of the Accords for a while. My coupe isnt done and wont be for a while. Also thinking about selling all my parts except my H22 and my Sprintharts. I really need something thats going to be reliable and something i wont have to worry about breaking down on me.

My stepdad has a 92 Frost white Da Ls that hes been talking about selling. Its extremely clean inside and out. 153,XXX on the clock and runs like a dream. I would honestly eat off the engine if it came down to it.

The thing is...I just have soo much time and money involved in accord parts to just up and get the Integra. I know i can sell parts here, and i also know they would go to a good home, but I'm stuck between the 2. I don't have a clean Accord shell, nor the money to dump into body and paint right now. The teg on the other hand is near spotless.

I want some opinions from you guys.

Sounds like you already made up your mind and are tired of your CB and have fallen for the Integra. Not a bad choice since its a great platform.

Thats the thing. I love this chassis, hell, i know it inside and out. I know where just about everything is, and could take one completely apart and put it all back.

        I'm stuck.

the Da or the coupe? The only thing wrong with the exterior of the DA is the hood...which i can paint myself.

            I'll get some pics tomorrow.

Ok so let me get this straight, you are afraid that your 92 wagon is not going to make it much longer so your looking to get another car. You say that you want a 92 integra. Now if you want something reliable, don't buy a car, let alone another honda from the same year as your wagon. But you say that you can't afford something that is no more than 5 years old. If you have the money to buy the teg then you have the money to fix the wagon. Reliability is all about maintenance!! If you can maintain your 92 wagon then it will be reliable. So if I were you, I would just put a little bit of money in the wagon to fix it and come out on top. You already own the wagon why not fix it.

Now you can't argue that the DA is spotless, you've already back tracked and said the hood needs repainted, thats not spotless in my book. The DA may be tip top now, but what about in a month when the brakes need to be replaced or in 47k miles when you need to do a TB and WP change. Have the shock been changed, if not they may be the first thing to go. What I'm trying to get at is you know what is wrong with your wagon. Take a little money and time and fix it, you'll feel better about the car and your decision, at least I would.

But if your looking for something you only have to put gas in and change the oil, go buy a new, spotless, off the showroom floor car. Otherwise you may not be happy putting money into something you just bought so you wouldn't have to fix the wagon.

I have fixed the wagon before. It's getting to the point where it needs more then an oil change. I've already replaced the auto-trans and its going to end up needing another, I replaced the headgasket 2 months ago, and still nothing but problems. I'm quite frankly tired of driving a wagon around.

If you didn't put 2 and 2 together, I was talking about selling my "JDM" parts for the coupe to get this Intergra. I would have more then enough money. THE ONLY FLAW is the hood. Wow a hood. I can paint that shit in my sleep.

I, myself, will NEVER buy anything thats right off the showroom floor. They end up having more recalls then a kids toy with a choking hazard. I also never said i wanted a car that all i would have to do it change the oil and put gas in, i understand these cars are getting old and need work. This integra has every single bit of its history in a folder, and i would get in this thing to go to cali right this second if it came down to it. I dont trust the wagon to go see my tuner which is just an hour away.

Sell the wagon, buy the Integra.
DD the Integra while keeping it stock. Don't dump money into the Integra for anything. The second you start modifying it, you won't stop.

Finish the coupe and keep the Integra as a DD only.

I hope you do realize that the import scene or domestic. Its an expense not a necesity with any car you modify will be a money pit. Its just all a matter of time honestly no matter which car you get even with a newer car too so what the hell if you are going to go that route do it right just put money aside and do it with a smile.

If i go that route, as Josh stated. The only thing that would be forsale would be the wagon. If I sell the wagon, get the DA and keep it stock, and dd it. While doing that, finish the coupe. I kinda like the idea.

The DA sounds like a very smart choice in this case.

Great cars with tons of potential. I've been looking for a DA forever and I can't find any nice ones that aren't riced out or beat to hell.

Though last year I did almost trade my Jetta for a RHD Integra XS-i. I was so pissed when that deal fell through.

Even if you get the DA, it's still be a money pit like the Accord because you'll want to mod it.
