I didnt know what was required to get into canada. my dad " a Canadian" said he use to just be able to get a pass to go for a week or so because he use to do it but he dose now know if its still like that because he has not went back in years
Dude...listen. Things have most likely changed since your dad came back and forth from the U.S to Canada or vise versa. If you buy a car up here I guarantee there will be paperwork, fees and probably more trouble than you would want. NO, you cannot just come here, buy and car, and simply go back down to the U.S with it. It seems as if you're looking for an easy solution, when in fact the easiest solution would be to either buy a car in the U.S, or just follow the laws of importing/exporting cars from Canada to the U.S. It's that easy.

Well my dad is a Canadian citizen so IF I buy this car I would have him put it in his name in Canada and get plates in his name. That way the boarder wouldn't think anything. I would keep in down in az and when I need new tags Every few years I will have to drive up and get it inspected.

Does he live in Canada? Because if he doesn't then your above statement is irrelevant. Because you have to have a Canadian address to register a car.

you would drive from arizona to canada every 2 years to insure a car? you realize that if you insure a car in canada, your age, the city you live in, and the type of car you own = how much you pay

take me for a prime example, i drive an SUV...IM 24, never been in a car accident that was my fault....i pay around 300$ a month on insurance...and thats with 30% discount for being a safe driver. your 17 so your insurance is gonna be even higher bud.
