No it is just a two year program.

A lot of schools have it, but i did mine through a hospital.

Also being a private school, it wasn't cheap.

My school in this area has the most sites for clinical rotations, so that was a major driving force behind choosing my school.

Be warned though, you will need 15 general credits now, to sit for the ARRT certification exam. The trend is that soon your going to need an Associates and eventually it will be a Bachelorette program etc.

      Education is key!

If u look into alot of companies its the people that stuck through all the bullshit and ass kissing that are your supervisors or people up in management. I know that some ppl just walk in and the job is there's but 9/10 they will take somebody who has put in tons of effort and really strives to be that much better. When I got my interview and they introduced me to the president of the company he asked me what were my goals for working with the company, I looked at him and said " I wanna take your job" he smiled and shook my hand. If u want better go get it.

I make 13 an hour making camshafts for Ford, Volkswagen, Kia, and GM. Job is cake, I stand around and watch grinders surface journals and lobes all day for 12 hours and when the machine fucks up I fix the shit. Everyone at our job complanes but in the first 90 days u have full vacation to use 144 paid hours and in 30 days u have full benifits! I only pay 50 a month for my whole family so great shit. So why do they complain?

I say its all about attitude bro. Go in with your head down and that's how you will come out. But, if you go on with your head up guess what.....same business. Bust ass or none at all but always look for ways to improve your performance and effort that way you get noticed and can improve your job and income and most of all just have fun. Go to work and make it fun, fuck with ppl and tell stories, just make it fun that way it goes fast and you smile doing it. Work is what u make of it man. Just smile 8)
I wake up in the morning and piss excellence!

I'm a PI. No school at all required. 5 years experience (at least in NJ) required to get officially licensed for private practice. I make more money than I would with my degree, but I wouldn't want to do it forever. My intention is to take the money while it lasts and get back in school.

I'm officially a "Configuration Services Sr. Analyst," which is just a typical fancy title that has nothing to do with my job. Probably not the typical job your degree-less employee will get into, but I started out as a contractor, busted my ass to prove myself, and eventually made the leap to full time employee. The job is very computer oriented, but it's not something you'd need a degree for; mostly just a passion for computers and a lot of common sense. Pay and benefits are very good (60k+), but taxes are killer. With a $1350/mo mortgage and two car payments, I don't see a whole lot left over, but it's enough. Just busting ass right now to get the cars paid off so we can focus on the house. The goal is to have it paid off by age 40 (19 years).

I'm a union ironworker. 4 year apprenticeship and you start at 15.91/h and top out at 28 and some change(varies state to state, for example texas tops out at 18 and some change/ New York tops out at 42 and some change). Pension, Annuity, Best health insurance, you earn college credits with the option to go for whatever you like for free. You earn tons of certifications for things you can use later for different jobs and whatnot. The job's not for everyone though. And I put emphasis on that. It works for me though.

I am a certified pharmacy tech. No schooling needed, just certifications, which is easy after otj training. I left my job at CVS due to the same reasons. The work was ok, pay was crappy (but it paid the bills), but the people i enjoyed working with all were moving on to other things. Slowly, it faded from actually enjoying going to work, to thinking of reasons to get out of going.

So i just decided it was time to move on as well, and try something different. Tomorrow is my first day at the new job, so we'll see.

Cvs: $11.50/hr (after working there for 6 years), started at $7
                    Rent & monthly bills: $1400
