rs4 3 i just got is currently in the totalled state
only a day after getting it. havent even got a chance to put my fail safe on it so it with weak reciever batteries took off at full throttle and smacked a curb at 50mph. pretty much blew into 10 pieces. it ran flawlessly up untill that point working on sourcing parts to rebuild it. it crumped up like a beer can right now.

Yes post up ! I'm currently looking to go into nitro. I think I've narrowed my decision down to a Traxxas nitro 4tec or a HPI t3.0 ns4. i don't know if I wanna get a RTR one or a one that I have to build from chassis up. This should be fun.

rs4 evo is now un-wrecked status. :] i spent 4 hours rebuilding the car from chassis back up. all good now fail safe is going on the bitch ASAP. after i rebuilt the rs i rebuilt the shocks on my uncles car for him as well since i had it in my possession .

Whats included are Two rs4 nitro ( older ones that are belt driven)

One is a .15fe motor with a single speed and the other is a Megatech .16 (blue head) with a 2 speed.

Both are ready to go and have their own remotes with servos, but the .15fe can't start and the .16 blue one could start but dies after 10 seconds. I'm thinking of saving the .16 and replacing the .15 motor with a 3.0. However, I also got whole bucnch of extras. two glow chargers, the glow ingnitor, bags full of extra parts,, lots of small hand tools, and four bodies. Oh I also got a 3/4 of a gallon of nitro gas.

my first car was the nitro rs4, still great cars but so incredibly hard to find parts for since its long discontinued. the 15fe probably needs to be rebuilt considering how old the engine is. its the one that came stock in the rs4.i could be wrong though only way to find out is if u tore it appart and see how the piston and sleeve are as far as pinch. ive never heard of that brand megatech .

make sure to replace all batteries and add failsafes to your cars as good measurment. i learned that the hard way :/
i probably wouldnt reccomend using the fuel he gave u. unless u know how old it is. i would just buy new fuel.

Im a HPI guy from the get go. i think they are built a little bit better and more quality. the traxxas looks cheap and all plasticy. unless upgrades are done to prolong durability. so my vote would be the savage.

my uncle just boughta rustler last sunday and at first he regretted it, cuz he opened the box and saw how everything was all "cheap quality made" and it wasnt till he started driving it that if forgot about that and had fun just driving what he had. the nimh batt he got with it didnt perform nearly as good as my lipo battery i threw in there.

No pics, but I have a Traxxas Rustler VXL (brushless). Currently running a 4000mAh 3S LiPo in it with a 22t pinion and 86t spur. With that setup, it will pull the front tires off the ground at any speed. I've never gotten it up to top speed because of that, and my rear tires balloon like crazy.

Main mod is the 3S LiPo, some RPM rear bearing carriers and aluminum shock caps, though I have replaced a few misc broken parts (hit a curb at 30mph and cracked the front bulkhead, and adjusted my suspension a little to stiff and destroyed the shock tower on a landing). I must admit, even though it does look "cheap and plasticy" it has held up VERY well to my abuse. I'm a straight up basher, so it's constanty getting rolled, crashed into things, jumped, etc. Finally broke after a month with a head on curb impact.

New diff output yokes and half shafts (had my slipper too tight, tweaked them with the 3s/gearing combo I have)

looks are very deceiving. this isn't the same plastic that's used for everyday applications. especially rpm products.

JR Z9100S Digital Ultra high-speed 1/8th scale servo I think .06 sec lock to lock and about 180oz of torque at 6V

I bought this car basically new with everything listed for 1000 back in July 09'. The guy before me paid close to 2700 for everything so I think I saved a shit ton of money.

Hopefully if I get this internship I'm after at PING in Phx, I can finally race it on weekends, instead of working every Sat. at Discount tire. I just hope its not too obsolete by now lol

^^^as you can tell, I race for blood haha, but really its only been driven about 15-20 packs since new.

I've spent WAY too much money on it for it to be sitting as long as it has been, about 9 months. Pack still is holding a charge though! Thats the greatness of Lithium Polymer batteries.
