LEAKING COOLANT FROM REAR OF ENGINE. HEADGASKET REPLACED NOT EVEN 2 WEEKS AGO. CAR RAN GREAT 14HRS TO IMPORT ALLIANCE IN GA. ALSO GOT IT TUNED DOWN IN NC.
ON WAY BACK HOME IN CT I STARTED LEAKING COOLANT. REAR OF ENGINE. DOES NOT SEEM LIKE ITS THE WATERPUMP. ALSO ALL HOSES ARE FINE AND NOT LEAKING.
I FOUND A PICTURE OF THE BACK OF THE BLOCK PICTURED BELOW.
MY GUESS IS THAT AN 0 RING AT THAT METAL TUBE THAT GOES INTO THE WATERPUMP FAILED AND IS LEAKING COOLANT FROM THAT. IT'S MY ONLY GUESS ( I AM TURBOED AND IT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE IT CAN BE ANYTHING ELSE BEHIND THERE.
I THOUGHT IT WAS THE INTAKE MANFOLD GASKET BUT THERE IS NO COOLANT GOING THROUGH THAT. FROM ENGINE TO INTAKE MANIFOLD SO THAT IS OUT OF PICTURE.
ANY IDEAS?
