intel procs - core 2 duo/quad vs i3,5,7

I havebeen looking at Laptops, I would like to have a Intel 7, but I dont need a ferrari for a laptop, so I am going to make the Intel 5 work for me. lol

all depends on what you want to do. It's almost pointless to be a video designer or anything like that without having a desktop.
