Matt, find a third person, and you've got $40 from me I'll own a legal copy of Windows for the first time ever! (well, the XP that I'm running now is a copy of a disc that my friend legally owns... so that's close...)
sorry i forgot to mention it's not pro version but like a family pack upgrade to Win7 premium. Although if you could find a bootlegged disk of Pro you could upgrade to Win7 and then upgrade that to Pro.

I've got Ultimate on my laptop.

Dell has it on sale right now for 100 bucks.

well because you paid for the professional version which licenses it to one computer (if you check the retail box it says so, if you don't have the box its listed all over the internet) and now you want to use other licenses so you can install it on more computers. is that clear or did i misread?

you can buy license through microsoft or you can buy the family pack upgrade edition for 3 computers for 150

you pay for something but want more but yet don't want to pay for it. i understand that, everyone is that way. they all want more for less but what they don't understand is support for the company that is providing the service/product

I'm not 100% positive, but I believe the 3 pack windows 7 upgrade requires you to have Windows Vista installed to upgrade to 7. I believe OP said they have retail xp and that wouldn't work.

Yeah I saw that in the ads as well. I bought the family pack last year sometime for a friend and installed it on his 3 machines, gave me problems when installing from xp even tried the clean install as well with no luck. Read online some people say yes and some say no about being able to upgrade from xp.

Not sure why I had trouble(or others), but it is the best value if you're looking at running Win7.

until youre able to acquire a serial legally, just do a search for a "wat remover". that way, you dont even need a serial.

I hear what you're saying but the fact is there are people out there (companies) who don't use windows 7 right now but have paid for the license. Some of them give their keys away. What's wrong with that?

I have XP, yep, but I did a clean install and it went on fine. That's not the issue.

I'll have to look around at buying more professional keys.

                            Awesome, that helps.

I wish there was a way to just buy more numbers. I have the disk, don't need another. Serial numbers would require no shipping and would arrive within minutes :P

you could always call them up and ask for just the keys, It's not like you're not paying for them, I'm sure they can accommodate.
