So I'm minding my own buisness, just got out of the bar (only 1 beer, never any more when I drive) and I pull out onto the road. There's a stop sign that allows you to go right without stopping, but stop when going left. I was making a left turn. I was hurrying a bit and I didn't come to a complete stop at the stop sign (I know, my fault). I made sure that nobody was coming from any direction in front of me. As I made the turn I noticed that there was a cop behind me. So, sure enough he pulled me over, and do you know who it was? MY DAD! Not too many people know that he's a cop. But he pulls me over and gives me a $287 ticket! For something that most of the time he let's off with a warning! He said that because I did it in front of a few drunks at the bar, I put him in a bad position! WTF!!! Tonight sucks!!

A friend of mine pulled over the daughter of a local politician. She was drunk. He let her go with a warning, because he knew who she was.
Word got out that he let her go... and they let him go. Fired.
If one of those drunks that witnessed the event happened to know that it was an interaction between a father and son, and the word got around, your dad could've been fired... so yeah, what he did makes perfect sense to me.
Plus, yeah... "tough love". He gave you a ticket for running a stop sign. Another cop may have made you take a sobriety test. While one beer wouldn't likely have put you over the limit (and thankfully, you say you don't have more than one and drive... I'll usually do two, but I won't drive for at least an hour after the second...) If you happened to have two, or maybe picked a really strong beer for some odd reason... another cop might have taken your license. Next time, this incident will be on your mind.
Still... I can see how you'd be pissed.
