Turtles gotta eat and in the wild they eat just about anything. So to that I say.

    This. Happens in the wild.

Should we go nicely cook and cut up Lion's meals every day and serve it on a silver platter?

      LOL!

They would not eat it anyway, they prefer their meat.....raw.

My friend feeds his snake mice... and he does the "whack the head on the table" thing.

You really shouldn't get already dead mice, as they can spoil. The creature eating them isn't a carrion eater, it's a hunter!

I do agree that this is cruel, though. Yes, it happens in the wild, but when feeding an animal in captivity, have some compassion for the creature being eaten! Putting the mouse in a paper bag and smacking its head on a table is actually pretty quick. It'll either be dead, or unconscious. Regardless, it won't be aware of being eaten a few seconds later! (my friend said a mouse woke up before his snake ate it... that was not pretty!)

What I find interesting is the mouse's survival instinct. Even without its rear half, it still tries to get away... and actually manages to swim as half a mouse!

I'm neutral on this one. It is what it is. The half of mouse trying to get away; FEAR & ADRENALINE, period.

That mouse would have earned him a permanent cage and the name lucky.
