I was told by an inside source that tire manufactures are looking to raise prices by as much as 9%, as of March 9, 2011. Has a lot to do with recent gas prices and oil prices going up.
Supply and demand and inflation is one thing but this sudden hike is what kills me. I mean, think about it, the days after "9/11", gas prices skyrocketed to over $3/gal. Some places even went to $4 or $5. Well, here we are, just about 10 years later and prices have just about gotten to where they were in the days that followed.
On the flipside though, gas prices in England had been like $9/gal for years. Cigarettes in canada are outrageous. Or i like to look at thinks like white-out or Pepto Bismol; those things are hundreds of dollars per gallon.
yea, our tire distributor at pops shop told us at the first of the year . i was told they got hit up by the E.P.A again on the pollution it causes to make tires. i have had a 4 person tour of coker tire . nice place they make tires at .that sucks for all of us .
A man that keeps looking back can't see whats in front of him.
I thought the recent spike in gas prices had to do with the unrest in Libya? And that's being resolved as we speak so gas prices should come back down soon. As for the tire prices going up i have no idea whats the real reason but im glad i just got new tires installed.

I was all set to buy a set of 31x10.5 BFG All Terrain KOs earlier in the month, but since I'm not able to drive right now, I can't buy tires any time soon.
I've been watching the prices fluctuate as it is, going from $142/tire to $150/tire. I'd prefer they don't go up again.
