Though I don't want that lame V700.
I'll take the V800

At my track, a helmet is required to race at all, even if you're running 18s.
If you break 11, I think, and your car does not have certain things installed (roll cage, shatter shield, etc...) then I've been told that you will be escorted off the premises and forbidden to return with that vehicle until it meets their requirements! I've never seen it happen though, nor have I seen it in writing, so that could be pure fiction.
You're right though, Jon... I don't think I'd want it THAT crazy, or it would ruin what makes it special. If I just want a fast, noisy, uncomfortable car that runs the quarter mile really fast, I'd do it to a lightweight sportscar, like a Corvette. Not a hulking behemoth of a luxobarge!

Boise
We have quite a few people in boise who make the one run a year and get kicked.
Its funny because they all try to pick the event to get kicked at.
This year they did import vs domestic.
After they get kicked some of them toss on a smaller turbo and run autocross for the rest of the season.

The coupe would be my choice. I do like the sedan, but the coupe appeals to me just a bit more. WAY more than the old 1st gen that I'll be getting... but I can afford to buy a $15,000 used car. $63,000 for the CTS-V coupe... yeah, I'd rather not.
The wagon is pretty badass too. I've never seen one of those in person. I've only seen one non-V wagon, even. Kinda makes me think of the 1st gen SRX though (which was based on the CTS.)

It's based on the LS9.
And you sure that's a "when" and not an "if"..?

it's a "when"... just not sure EXACTLY when!
Waiting for my 1099, and for my accountants to tell me what I owe for 2009 (yes, I'm a year behind on taxes...) Then I'll know where I stand financially. I have a bit saved up, but not $15k. Hopefully I'll be able to get what I want for $15k-ish, drop as much as possible, and finance the rest. Then pay it off as quickly as possible.
Then I'll start doing serious work on the CB7... and MAYBE looking into a supercharger for the CTS-V
