    Parking Skyscraper

    http://www.golberz.com/2010/08/amazi...wolfsburg.html
Visitors to the Autostadt in Wolsfburg (Germany) are now able to experience the CarTowers from the inside! A special glass, panorama lift takes six guests through the same procedure as one of the 800 cars stored in the CarTowers. The transparent cylindrical buildings rise 48 meters above the grounds. They work like giant vending machines. As a new car arrives from the Volkswagen factory, it’s transported by robot to an empty storage slot in one of the towers.

imagine being at the top getting in a car drunk or with a bunch of foolish people could be rather scary.

looks like everyone in germany owns a volks wagon

Similar to a forklift getting a pallet off a shelf in a warehouse.

I think Japan has a similar parking system in some of its' cities if I am not mistaken.

edit: They do... Not as fancy but leave it to the europeans to dress it up.... Here are a few of the japanese variations.
