So i just took down her info from her window and bounced.

So she locked herself in her car (i'm assuming your both on the side of the road or whatever since you didn't say) she gave you her info through the glass? you wrote down her name along with the make, model, year, license plate? I'm confused how you exchanged info?

And then you just left? That a dick move. I don't care who it is. If your in "accident" you should stay until the police show up or you both agree to part ways. THAT IS A HIT AND RUN!

how does this make you above the law?

It doesn't put me above the law, but when and if you go to trial its all about your character. If she had any professionalism about her or level headed thinking she wouldn't have acted the way she did. Judging by that, im sure if it goes to court i would be just fine.

No let me explain what went down better for everyone trying to make me look like an ass.

First off i would NEVER just bounce on the scene of an accident. I was a certified EMT and ive stopped for a handful of accidents that had NOTHING to do with me to help out. Im not that kind of guy.

When she swiped me we both pulled over and got out.

She was on her phone from the min she hit me till i left.

When she got out i went over and i asker her why she couldn't just let me in.

She then replied "let you in? Why the fuck would i let you in...where we you going in such a hurry"

I was speechless...how she got me as being in a hurry when i was going less then 5mph trying to just merge in in heavy traffic has me beat.

Nevertheless i didn't argue i asked her what she wanted to do(i.e call the cops, exchange info, or just leave it alone)

She went on and on about how i hit her and she cant believe this shit she just got off work etc etc.

So i went to my car to get pen and paper and when i returned she was in her car with window up. I stared at her until she rolled the window down and i said lets exchange info....she replied "for what? i got your make and model and license plate what you need my info for?" I said thats how it goes and she said whatever and rolled the window up.

I knocked and knocked and she blew me off.

So i went to my car and called some peeps to see what i should do as i actually have never been in an accident where i had to exchange info, or a situation such as this.

They informed me to just get her license, make model color type, registration #, location and time of incident.

See William your not from here i guess. In the windsheild by the VIN is the registration sticker which has all her info minus her name # and address.

So i got out and attempted to get the info from her and she told me to get away from her car as i had caused enough damage.

So i said fuck it and wrote down all her info minus her name address and # since i needed her too tell me that and she wouldn't even roll down the window.

I waved goodbye in one final attempt to get her to reason with me but she ignored me(still on phone).

Got in my car and bounced.

The ONLY thing i could have down was involved police but the traffic was herendous and it would have taken them like 45 mins to get to us and frankly i dont think we needed them.

I have no idea what she was waiting for but i presume a friend or family member but i was not about to wait around.

Why involve the police?

She clearly didn't want to cooperate and she watched me take down her info so she can't call up and claim hit and run because how would i have done that AND got her info???

See so it wasn't a dick move...i tried 3 times to get her to do what needed to be done and she wanted no part.

She didn't call the cops and i didn't think it was necessary so what was there to wait around for?

A bf to show up and start a fight.

Na this is NYC...gotta know how to roll around here or you face real issues.

not sure about St.Louis but-

A hit and run is defined as a driver hitting or being involved in a vehicular collision with other vehicles or pedestrians or the like and NOT stopping.

If you stop for 2 secs and then bounce that is also a hit and run.

If you stop for over 35 mins and then leave....that is not a hit and run.

You might want to check the rule book in your city, but the law doesn't follow your opinion.
