    How much would you pay...

... for a set of used coilovers?

Say someone has a set of used coilovers for sale. And let's say they are above average, like Tein Basics, Ksport Pros, you know something better then an eBay special or a coilover spring kit on some KYBs.
Nothing blown and with about 5K miles on them.

How much would you be willing to pay?

70-80% price of new ones...if they were beilsteins or konis maybe 80-90%

5000k is not much on the life of GOOD shocks/springs. Old stickers lasted 200k

but what I would really pay 300-400 for a set that was 700+ if the mileage was trustworthy

            I voted $300-$450.

But, it all depends on what brand and how they were used (track/dd).

My thoughts exactly. Warranties are your friends. Manufacturers won't recognize second-hand ownership for warranties or mechanical defects.

And that right there is the kicker. I know when it comes to certain things (such as suspension components) a warranty is VERY nice to have.

I guess the real question is, is the extra $500 (low end) to $800 (high end) worth it just to get a warranty? I'm thinking the answer is yes.

what about Raceland coilovers? those guys ever get back to us about producing some for the CB chasis?

Last i heard they were pretty popular with the guys in the Scion TCs and some European cars plus they were very affordable.

I gave up on Raceland, not sure if anyone else is still pursuing them.

After getting the same BS auto reply from them month after month I decided I'd rather spend $1K on a setup from a company that gives a crap then from Raceland.

it was made quit apparent in that thread (several times) that raceland had no intentions of producing suspension for our outdated cars.

I believe an email from raceland was also posted which while not so blunt it's meaning was to that effect

in addition while being low price, their quality was not sufficiently confirmed...low price rarely if never means good quality

Doubt it, they discontinued the coilovers for the 92-95 Civic, seeing as its an extremely popular car for whatever reason, I'm sure they never gave a thought to making coilovers for our cars
