A couple of members have suffered family losses

Both Jeff (sunburn) and myself lost our respective grandmothers yesterday.
Jeff lost his after a long battle with Alzheimers and mine went after a somewhat shorter battle with just wearing out.

I'd appreciate it if you'd all think a comforting thought of some sort for our families.

I lost my grandmother when I was 22. The last of my remaining grandparents (I knew 3 of the 4.) You're both lucky that yous were around for so much of your lives! Treasure the time you had with them, and honor their memory.

Jon, Jeff; My condolences to both of you. You two, of most everyone I know, have been the 2 people who have been helping me through my current situation and I thank you both for that. If you guys need anything; someone to talk to, shoot the shit with or to just laugh or have a little levity with, you know my number.

Thanks guys. She was my last living grandparent, and I learned so much from her through my life that I will always treasure. She was one of those rare individuals that can always bring joy and love into the world, everyone was her friend and she always saw the good in something. She taught me that no matter how bad the situation, it was always possible to find joy and laughter to counterbalance the sorrow and anger.

A little difficult right now, but along with the tears, there've been a few chuckles since she passed.

My sister and aunt were with her the night before she passed; they had been talking with her about being ready to go, looking forward to seeing everyone that had already passed, being happy for the life she had, etc. My sister said Grandma had dozed off and my sister and aunt were just sitting there watching her rest. After a few minutes, Grandma opened her eyes, looked at them both and said "I'm not going tonight."

I only had one grandparent and i lost her when i was 15.

My wife had all 4 of her grandparents up until a few years ago. I only wish i could have been as lucky as her.

Just like Mike said, cherish the time you had and celebrate the memories you have.

I'd like to take this time to thank everyone for the love it really does mean alot.

In my case we knew it was coming , but I am still kinda numb for the experiance.

I too just lost a member of the family, just last weekend. He was 12 years old, he died saving his cousins lives. On a positive note, he died a hero.
