I am currently unemplyed and life sucks
figuring out a way to put gas in your car day by day isnt a good way to go
seems jobs are so hard to come by these days,
you have to know someone to get a job
or go through a temp service and get half your pay taken away.
I live in TN and the unemployment rate is relatively high
ive been lookin for months of nothing specific and havent had any luck
most places tell me i need more experience so how am i supposed to get a job anywhere with not enough experience???
im just ranting because i look every other day and waste my gas
school is an option, but you dont get paid to go there...
i guess i need to be more optimistic about it all

I spent 20k and two years aquiring a skill i cannot use right now.

Im also certified and licensed in 3 states.

Been looking since July and there isn't anything popin.

Shit is rough.

I was turned down from Jetblue airways, my old employer and turned down for unemployment.

Now im trying to get a gig with Geico as a field adjuster.

Got an interview in Nov.

THAT is what's really depressing.

"They" are saying 2014 at least before we can see employment at 6% or less.
(ideal unemployment for economists is 5.5%)

I'm unemployed in the since that I do not have a steady paycheck or job that I go to/do on a daily or weekly basis.

However I do work for several different companies and individuals which pay on a per project basis, which are infrequent. I also make/do things on my own.

So yes, I am unemployed but I'm able to pay my bills.

I was just laid off Oct 15th. Sucks having no health insurance so i may have to go without a lot of my meds.

If im lucky i'll get my unemployment benefits that will sustain me for about a year and then i'll just concentrate on school.

Ugh. I know that feeling. I was buying insurance for about three years and it just got to damn expensive. I am lucky enough to have a doctor that actually cares and when I have to see him he just gives me the "samples" instead of writing me a prescription.

Graduated from college in May and nothing so far. Got into some SERIOUS trouble in 2007 so that will make it doubly hard (racing felony) even though it has nothing to do with any job that I'm applying for. I've had companies contact me to ask to setup an interview and never heard back from them. Called them back and no answer. Applied to the YMCA, hired and then suspended because they have to take up the issue of my felony with State Licensing although I worked for them in 2008 with no issues at all. Applied at Best Buy, passed drug test and background check and haven't heard a word in two weeks. Although this all sucks, I'm fortunate enough to have a family that supports me until I have both of my feet on the ground. I can only thank God that I have that much going for me right now as things could be a lot worse.
