I can't help but notice the plethora of misplaced threads lately... primarily regional and tech questions in the Off Topic sections.

So it occurred to me... perhaps this place is just too complicated. Too many forums, subforums, etc... It's too difficult for people to grasp the concept.

I'm thinking about merging all forums into one big section. Off Topic, Tech, Regional, Classifieds, Photo Gallery... all of that. Just all in one big section.


What do you guys think?

No it's not. The sections are sorted, but the posts are all out of place anyway! At least that way, everyone will be looking in the same place.

The way things are would make sense if people actually posted in the right areas, but they don't... which clutters up those areas with unrelated posts, and scatters information all over the site.

Stickies will be done away with. Nobody reads them anyway. I've actually stuck a very popular thread (my "add 30hp for $500" or whatever it was...) and within 24 hours of doing so, people were PMing me, asking if I deleted it because they couldn't find it.

i think you should jack up the beginner post count to like 30 or 40 or 50?
make it beginners forum only allowable to post
merge the beginner section if anything
i think the vets shouldnt have to suffer from the noob mistakes IMO

Maybe newcomers could have the same signature, with links to the rules and commonly requested/linked stickies. That way, while they're in the playpen, they'll always be exposed to these links.

Or, after they click "new thread," they'll first be linked to a page that lists stickies for that respective subforum - asking, "Do any of these threads answer your question(s)?"
