I don't know if I'm the only one who does this, but I rarely go to sections and look for threads, I just hit the new posts button. So this would make little difference to me.
However, when I am looking to find a thread I've seen in the past, it is much more effective to go to a subsection and find it, than use the search function. I'm not looking to bash this forum by any means, but the search function doesn't always yield the results I'm looking for. I think the forum layout is great the way it is.
Maybe the beginner post count should be raised to 50 and I definitely like the idea of beginners automaticly having a signiture of rules links in it.

I'm surprised no one has commented on the misspelled title by now, how dare you make an error Deev lol. Lets just make it easier for everyone and just shut down cb7tuner! It's pretty much useless and hardly anyone comes to the site anyway
Jk, don't do it! We'd all die from boredom. I love this place, except for all of the dumb people latelyLast edited by apuforyou; 10-11-2010, 10:16 PM.

Then upon completing the sections, when they fuck up, instant ban, since they'll already be aware of rules and whatnot? And disable pm'ing the mods for anyone with less than the recommended amount of posts? This way, they have to stand on their own 2 feet and figure some shit out on their own?
1. Limit the posts to Beginner and Regional sections.
2. Full forum access and mod PM access would be 50 posts OR 2 months, whatever comes first.
3. Classifieds would still be password protected but I would attach it to their names, not to the cookies. I use my work computer and it gets really annoying having to type !@#$%^&* every time I want to see the classifieds because the computer doesnt save cookies.
4. In a member's first week they are only able to post threads in a Introduction section, otherwise they can only post in threads listed in #1.
5. Infractions would be based on their "worth" to the forum. If they are too stupid to post with atleast some grammar/punctuation/capitalization(assuming English is their primary language, obviously it is hard enough to understand when still learning English) or if they just post dumb sh*t they should get three strikes. PM Warning, 3 day ban, IP ban.Last edited by Cobalt; 10-11-2010, 10:07 PM.Call me Travis.

X2 on this forum being extremely well-organized and everything really easy to find.
What about doing it similar to the way Team-Integra is?
As soon as somebody creates a username, they see a message that says "you are not allowed to post for 8hours but take a look at the most popular topics..." and then a list of the common stuff :
- if your car doesn't start
- how to install a turbo kit
- 30 reasons not to buy "ebay" suspension
- why you should think twice before ditching your F for an H
etc etc...
That way people will be forced to do research before posting
Then, after the 8hours, make them read a long list of rules with hidden passwords (like the classifieds) and once they find and enter about 5 hidden passwords, they will be able to post. IMO the lazy noobs won't even bother going through all of that.
EDIT: also, the beginner status should be until you reach 30 posts AND you are a member for at least 30 days. This will stop people from trying to reach 30 posts in one day.Last edited by rexload; 10-11-2010, 10:26 PM.

I hate Facebook... I just finished typing a long reply, my friend sent me an IM on there, and as I hit the backspace key, it caused the page to go back, and I lost it all. Sonofabitch.
Ok, I'll make it short then.
This thread was not serious. I'm not really considering that.
However, the posting in the wrong section shit is getting out of hand. In the past month alone, there have been at least 3 threads in this OT section (not even the playpen!) that flat out said "I know this is the wrong place, but I need an answer NOW!"
Aside from being rude by making such a thread, I very often get angry PMs from people when I close or delete them. Like I did something wrong. Like they're special, and the rules and organization of this forum don't apply to them when they need help figuring out how to replace their brake light bulb.
One of these days, I really AM going to go to someone's house and piss in their fridge. Right on the fucking meatloaf.
