The problem is, all you have are assumptions of the possible outcomes. If your car means as much as you say it does, you will find the courage to be down to earth and straight to the point with the parents.
Yes some people are assholes and might not care, but when you do that, you might get a reaction you dont or you do expect. perhaps the parents dont know that the child is doing that. I have had some kids in my program that are holy terrors in my program, but at home, they are the opposite.

you dont need expensive equipment to put up a cheap camcorder in your house and film from inside. Point it at your car.
Once you have a face on tape that is discernible thats it. You can go to the police and you have hard evidence that cannot be refuted and if they dont stop they can go to jail.Comment

Honestly though, there really isn't too much room to breathe here if you aren't going to catch them in the act and have poof of it. If you find out where the child lives and talk to the parent, the kid will get into trouble and probably do one of two things.....
1) Leave your car alone and you
2) Screw with you more and just be THAT much more careful at it.
plus you get to deal with the whole "Are you SURE it was MY child?"
All in all, kids have WAY too many rights today. YES, some ARE needed but others are just easily manipulated.
Sometimes though, there just isn't a reason as to why one does things like that except for "That was fun" or "I just wanted to" as that IS the reason they chose to do it. A lot of kids these days just didn't think ahead of what might happen.3 CB's gone....

i asked my best friend's dad (a cop) and he told me to follow them home... without them knowing it (stalker status like Ralphie lol) and call the cops if they do it again. he saw the dent in my hood and said he'd be pissed too. i asked him to see if he could get any guys in the force to patrol my neighborhood a bit more to give the kids a little scare and he said he sure would. he also said i've been too passive about all this, and that i should of acted sooner.
thing is i'm still so divided. i haven't seen the girl that dented my car since she did it whenever i posted this. so what's the use in calling the police if i can't even remember her face? also, i'm afraid of trick she might pull in saying i might have done something or if i follow someone home, will i get called a stalker?
i'm not really sure if i made my point and that i'm serious about protecting my car, or if they're just plotting or waiting for me to forget, so they can do something again.Comment

You should find a bunch of electric fence components and find a way to hook them up to your car. Put a sign on it like "Caution: High voltage electrical current running through chassis". Set up camera and prepare to LOL.
