You have $30,000 to buy or build a car... what would you do?

Just a hypothetical... If you had $30,000 to blow on a car, what would you do with it?

    Buy new?
    Buy used?
    Build a project car?

Let's hear it. Lay it out. You have $30,000 to work with. No more, and anything less than $30,000 is forfeit (like, you can't buy a $2000 CB7 and spend the rest on hookers and blow...)
ONE car (this was added after tippey's post... )

I would most likely buy multiple cars, not a single one, then restore them all.

I would go with an evo 9 MR and lower it. Then I'll be happy.

deeve, 30k wouldnt really go very far on that car

i'd get a piece of crap 50's car, a decent small block, a stack of sheet metal, an english wheel, good mig and tig welders, and a bunch of other tools and make something like this:

if only given 10k, i'd either build up my car or a sick miata.

It's an original build, made to look like a 33 Ford.
Full tube frame, independent Koni suspension (engineered specifically for the car)

                    Weighs 2,000 lbs.

Drivetrain would be a 4.6L Ford V8. I'd probably choose an LSx if given the option, but they're designed to accept Ford small blocks... so I'll go with that. Still a good engine. In a 2,000lb car, even a bone stock 4.6 would make it a rocket!

The kit is $20,000. They give a rundown of a possible build, and the total was a little shy of $40,000... however, they had a $4000 fuel injection kit included. I would probably just rape a junkyard Mustang for the FI parts. I might have to forgo the fenders and roof to cut costs to stay under $30,000... but it can be done. The kit comes with everything, other than the engine, transmission, fuel injection system, and wheels/tires. Interior and full suspension are included.

If I were to buy a full car... that would be among my choices for sure.

                        Elise, M3, NSX...
