    In Remeberance.

I'd like to think I'm a pretty desensitized person but this photo just makes me think. I mean, try to imagine the view out the cockpit at this moment. Or if you were a passenger looking out a side window at this moment....how terrifying it must've been. It's sad and unfortunate that such a tragedy occured. Those lost, will not be forgotten.

At least for those in the planes, it was quick. Terrifying for a fairly short time, and then over. A small mercy, not that it makes the tragedy any less.

That was a crazy day. I still remember it so clearly. I'm only an hour or so away. My buddy Wayne, who was always a total fuckup, packed his truck the day it happened and headed up there to help. I gained immense respect for him that day.

My sympathies to all who lost, and my eternal respect to all those that helped.

I have friends in Jersey who, at the time, were going to school across the bay/river(whatever) and they watched it all from outside the school.

I remember exactly where i was, too. 4th block, homeroom. A teacher came in and told us to turn on the news. We were all Juniors and it was homeroom so we were fucking off as usual and this came on and we saw that the 1st tower had been hit and no one knew if it was a plane or bomb or what, then im sitting there watching, the LIVE FEED, and i see that 2nd plane coming and i was like "Uh...what is that?!?" and then it hit. I distinctly remember hearing a fairly loud cry/roar from the other class rooms on that same floor.

Of course, we didnt think it was that big of a deal and class was dismissed as usual. After that class was my lunch and i remember walking outside the building, hearing people pretending and joking about "watch out, that plane's gonna crash into the school!" Little did we know....

Yeah, I was home for my 2 hour break between classes (my old ass was already in college... ) I walked in, turned on the tube, and the first tower had just gotten hit. I watched the second plane hit, watched the first tower start to fall... then got back in my car to go to class. I was looking up the entire time. It's weird seeing no planes in the sky (especially when I'm right in the middle of Philly, Newark, NYC, DC, Baltimore... all major airports!)
My Sociology prof was a hardass, so I didn't think for a second that class would be cancelled! Of course, it was. They shut down all schools, evacuated the malls (my girl worked at a mall, and had to be sent home.) All Philly office buildings (her mom worked in one... we were all worried.)
I sat home all day, listening to Howard Stern (who provided the best coverage by far... since he was looking at it...) and surfing the net. Now that I think about it, I wonder what I did on the internet all day... because I didn't join any Honda sites until 2003!

Then I had to go to work at a restaurant that employed 3 Egyptian Muslims, and 2 ex-Marines. Talk about tense...

I was in my 1st period class in high school. My boy had an interview in the south tower. But he didn't make cuz he over slept. That day will forever be embedded in our hearts and minds. Us new yorkers no, us americans banded together to show terrorist that we will not be frightened. We will stand united. Those brave men and women that gave their lives are the backbone of our great country.

R.I.P. to everyone that lost their lives. To the ppl on those doomed flights, to the ppl marked for death above the impact areas on the towers. To the ppl rushing up those flights that didn't know if they were going home that night to wives, sisters, sons, fathers, cousins, nephews, neices, grandparents.

There are 364 days out of the year that that can be argued/discussed. On this day we should remember those who died and honor those who have/are fighting for us.

If it turns into a political/conspiracy discussion, I will be forced to lock this thread... and trust me, nobody wants to be the one that makes that happen!

Pay your respects, share your stores... don't dishonor the memories of those that lost their lives 9 years ago by throwing around idiotic theories. We know some crazy people hijacked planes. We know many good people needlessly lost their lives. That's all we need to know to honor their memories on this day.

Somebody correct me if they can think of something bigger or more recent but i think this is probably the biggest/worst attack on America, by another country, since Pearl Harbour.

Well, we weren't really attacked by another country, but yes... this would definitely be the biggest attack on the US since then.

It is both fortunate and unfortunate to a point that any other acts of war are unlikely. Terrorist attacks like this are about all we have to fear... at least for now. Modern technology severely limits the chance of any sort of invasion or large-scale attack, short of an all-out nuclear missile launch against us. That would most likely bring the end of the world, and I'd HOPE that nobody with that power is crazy enough to do that!

That day was crazy. The amount of innocent ppl that passed on that faithful is incredible. So many broken families. The ideals of few can crush the lives of many. Its sickening.

I was in the fifth grade in my homeroom class when I lived Independence, MO.

Of douse being in the Midwest, we got the news a little late.

School went just as normal until I got home around 3pm and turned on the tv. Every channel I flipped through was showing replays of the towers being hit and falling down.

I was young and didn't understand much of what was going on, nor could I remember, but I do remember the silence and the depressing feel that drowned the home that day.

RIP to everyone at NYC, flight 93, and the Pentagon.

I wasn't scared per se, but i didnt know that what followed, would happen. I often wonder what the US, or world, would be like had this never happened...
