How many of you have used this? I have used it on the grille and center portion of my bumper (on the Lancer) and on the license plate surround on the rear. It's good shit IMO. Rubberized / grippy paint, nice flat black finish.

I have seen people do their wheels with it and it turns out fucking awesome. I think I am going to be giving that a try here soon with my Evo 7 wheels.

I'm also a fan. I've used it on my wiper arms and never had to reapply another coat. It's held up to the elements pretty damn well, I must say. I love the texture and durability.

Yea, I have been driving around through rain and shine, dust and gravel and rocks and bugs hitting it and whatnot. No chips or anything. I'm thinking of doing the wheels and possibly some other stuff on my Talon.

I've used the stuff. not for automotive use, but for my rc models. it's used to cover/protect vital electronic from the elements.

I'll probably redo my Mazda wheels with that stuff. I painted them about a week after I got the car and they are starting to chip.

One really cool thing about this is that it doesn't run and you won't get an orange peel effect or see any speckles from overspray. Unlike regular spray paint, where the fine misty overspray gets on the already painted part and leaves it looking like shit.

ive used it a few times. didnt last long in my interior though. ended up just peeling it off. didnt last too long on my friends grill either. doing great on his lip though. i plan on using it for my rear valance since mine is starting to fade

If you don't prep it correctly (rough sanding or toothy primer), it will peel with even the lightest friction. You also have to apply it very liberally. Like, 5+ thick coats.

i prepped fine i just used only like 3 coats of the plastidip paint. figured that was more than enough. guess not lol. good to know thanks!

You actually don't need to prime it at all. It can go on bare metal or plastic just fine. What you want to do though, is wet sand with maybe 400 grit. Then spray a coat, wait until it LOOKS dry (like one minute) then spray another coat. I wouldn't spray too thin or too thick. Spray until it's covered with paint.

This shit will dry to the touch pretty quick...you want to catch it before it completely dries, so wait a minute or so between coats. Spray about 4 or 5 coats. I think on the back of the can it even says use that many.

Fuck it, I will just paint my whole Talon with it, mua ha ha ha ha....that'll be sick!

I don't think the PlastiDip wheels are a good idea. The paint is relatively expensive per can ($7), and it WILL peel if scuffed.

And it's still a good idea to prime on areas where you can't sand roughly. That will give your target enough tooth to hold the paint down - or else, it'll peel. The point of doing multiple coats is to give your painted item a tough, protective rubberized shell against exposure to scuffing and peeling.

It isn't miracle paint. It's just rubberized.
