I didn't realize Toyota owned Isuzu either. I know they had joint ventures with GM (Chevy S10/Isuzu Hombre). I thought Ford owned Volvo, and GM owned Saab. I remember when GM filed bankruptcy they sold Saab to who I thought was Fiat. But then, how does one explain the Saab/Subarus?

There are quite a few brands I don't recognize on there!

What's up with Tata and GM both showing Daewoo ownership?

Lada I knew. Not the other two, though.

And Proton owns Lotus? Oi. I never knew of Proton until Affandi told me about them... and they're from HIS country... and he even says they're crap!

Can't we wait until these up-and-coming companies actually start making good cars before we sell them quality brands? Jaguar, Land Rover, Lotus, and Volvo have gone to countries that have yet to produce a good car on their own! At least the Koreans didn't start buying up known companies... The did what every other major automaking country did... they produced cheap crap, and evolved into less-cheap crap!

Hyundai and Kia aren't connected? Doesn't Hyundai own Kia? Has that changed? (according to Wikipedia, they're a joint company... and Kia is older than Hyundai... I learnded something!)

What I find to be EXTREMELY interesting... Cummins. According to that, Cummins is now a joint venture... India's Tata, and China's Dongfeng. The obvious hilarity of a company named Cummins being owned by Tata and Dongfeng... it'll be interesting to see one of the most respectable diesel producers under the joint rule of these evolving (and not very well respected) automotive producing nations.
