Yeah, Russian cars don't have the best reputation. I think some had a bit of rally success, so they're one up on the Chinese there, but that's about it.

i think its more that fuji heavy industry owns part mazda (along with ford owning part of mazda), and subaru instead of toyota owning them.. though i could be wrong....

I can't find anything about Toyota having anything to do with Mazda and Subaru... or those two with each other. The only collaboration I'm aware of is the new little sporty car that's being jointly developed by Subaru and Toyota.

Actually I'm fairly certain Honda rebadged the Isuzu Rodeo under a contract with them.

This chart really leaves a lot to be desired...lot of conflicting data...the toyota and ford owning mazda is one example...and then there is chevy and deawoo...the chart shows two owners of daewoo.

Ford does not "own" mazda...13% is a fairly small portion...I would not consider that "owning"

yeah Yota "owning" mazda is new to me.

A while back Toyota bought a portion (16%) of subaru...they were considering even using a suby engine in the new rwd corolla they were planning on coming out with (FT-86) in 2011.

This chart says "owns" but that does not seem correct.

By its definition I own Exxon Mobile

Subaru is a division of Fuji Heavy Industries. GM owned part of them (as well as Suzuki and Isuzu), but divested most of it courtesy of the Obama administrations philandering in the auto business.

Toyota bought GM's shares in Fuji Heavy Industries when GM sold them, in turn gaining a part of Subaru.

Correct. The Passport was 100% Isuzu.

Interesting. I should have realized when they made the 9-2x.
