I would have saved it but I have too many cars already
I salvaged an accord from destruction from the JY (which happened to be my greatest JY find).
I then felt sad tearing into a perfectly salvageable (no crash damage only paint fade) JDM Aerodeck. It was either i salvage rare parts or let it go to waste (possible destruction by fork lift or thrown out as JDM parts are not sought by insurance repairers and non enthusiasts which are 99% of old mum and dad accord drivers).
I too have too many cars (like im an establishment for the homeless and needy Honda shelter or something).
Going to the JY breaks me sometimes (Including finding other items you would like but cannot afford and have to leave behind).
Seriously what kind of society do we now live in where we throw away whole cars. Not because its irrepairable (with minimal effort) but for the frivolous reasons that its out of fashion, gives me a poor image or im just bored with it.
Not to mention the ludicrous reason people give "its not worth repairing due to its low market value". But they'll buy a new car worth thousands, spend thousands on maintenance (to keep the warranty) and insurance - throwing a blind eye to the fact you still spent thousands and not even a mention of the Depreciation costs!).
Expenses due to Repairs and Maintenance at leasts goes towards future use of the car. Depreciation Expenses does nothing to extend the future use of the car.Last edited by JDMDriver; 08-31-2010, 08:52 AM.Rides:

I heard a 99% whole Prelude INX was being wrecked at a local JY a couple of weeks ago.
If you dont know what a Prelude INX is it one of the Halo cars in the Prelude society. Likened to finding a CB7 Accord that was only ever offered in Japan with a totally different front (or finding a 4ws accord being wrecked in your area).
I wished i never heard it and didn't dare go to the JY to see a uber rare JDM Prelude (with all its goodies - rear wiper, climate control, 4ws, half mast antennae etc) going to waste and i cant save it or any of it.Rides:

You're not JDM until you have a car built in ohio with tons of bolt ons from ebay.
