I've been noticing some of you guys are getting hardly anything back. I've been seeing between $30 bucks and a couple hundred. The government is probably ripping you guys off big time, especially since most of you are young students living at home. I'm wondering, do you guys do your own taxes or do you go to an accountant? You guys know you can right off so much shit its not even funny!

I just give my w2's to my mom and let her deal with it. I do love living at home sometimes.

I'm getting my ass kicked because of financial aid at school. I have to be listed as a dependant, so I'm losing out.

I lost almost 3600 in taxes this year and I"m getting back like 740. I had set aside my tax return to fix my rust. That's gonna be 1900. I'm a little short. I'm gonna just spend my H money on the rust. I'd rather have a rust free Accord than one that's fast but missing the rear wheel wells.

...its my inherent perfectionism crap gene thing that must die soon now.

Yep, that about sums it up.

JDMcb7, AccordWarrior, how old are you guys? The reason you are not getting anything back is b/c you're parents are still claiming you guys. As soon as they stop claiming you and you guys put 0 on your W4s at work you will see a ton of $$$.

AccordWarrior, the fact that you have finacial aid alone will easily give you up to $1800 back and even more with the purchase of books, supplies and when i mean supplies I mean from paperclips to the use of your car!

Gas milage, wear and tear on the car, eye exams, co-payments for doctor visits, tolls, cell phone use, the gym(depending on career, fire, cops), clothes that you buy for work, equipment or items needed for you to perform duties at work or for school, ect..... I can go on forever.

Turbo tax and the do it yourself forms don't do a damn thing for you. That's why I use an accountant, they know all, and I mean all the things one can claim.
