Volkswagen legal battle for this ad

Well as the title has it...Volkswagen was fighting for this ad that offended them..it was made by two Britons Lee Ford and some other guy.

The ad was about the Volkswagen Polo which is another small car but just right underneath the Golf. It shows this guy in fatigues and him driving up to a cafe intending to blow himself up and the car with him...but instead he explodes inside the car and leaves the outside intact.

I guessing VW is being sued by whatever group of people were offended by that? I was under the impression that someone else made a commercial with the Polo in it and VW got offended!

Anyway, that's a pretty clever commercial, though I do see how people could get offended. Of course, the majority of bombings like that DO occur in the Middle East! Still, it's not right.

LOL fizzer!!! I am also .. heheh .. people always tell me when they see my images of them,
"wow.. the colors just *jump* off at me ...

I have difficulty with browns and purples for some reason .. hell .. lets get together for a *class action* suit ..

Fawk the people who get offended .. lol .. they made a *choice*.. they can *undo* that choice,
if they so desire .. *offended people* .. oman .. it's whats holding this country down ..
I mean .. when I was livin in Europe in the early 70's, they showed full frontal nudity in their *ad's*.
In America, at the same time .. what were we doin ?? lol .. *Laugh In* ??? hahahaha
And *that* was too much for some small minded people, mostly living in the Bible Belt of America.

We have a long way to go, before the *real* creative minds in advertizing and the the like,
can *do their own thang* ...

Make it a great Day .. afterall, it *is* a choice

              A Hui Hou !!!

That was an amusing and creative ad I thought, but any company, especially a big one like VW should know better than that. I still think this is some kinda joke, vw wouldn't be dumb enough to think they could get away with showing that. Maybe for hbo, but no network would carry that.

The notorious fake VW Polo ad featuring a suicide bomber was made by London-based advertising duo known as Lee and Dan (www.leeanddan.com).

Volkswagen and its advertising agency DDB London claimed the hoax viral ad was unauthorized and they were going to take legal action against Lee and Dan.

The matter was resolved when Volkswagen received sworn statements from the two creators - Dan Brook and Lee Ford - acknowledging that they made the ad but had not intended for it to be distributed.
