To shave or not to shave...

Ok so along with my previous post ( the H22 swap) i will be doing other mods to my car while the engine is out ( wire tuck, batt. relocation, etc.) and of course my main upgrade i am asking about is the exterior. Now, i will be painting the car silver (not seattle silver) and i was wondering if i should remove the black trim moldings on the doors and shave them clean or should i keep them on? What do you think would look better?

With them off gives it a nice smooth look, but at the same time, looks like something is missing. It's a 90s car, keep the moldings,IMO.

Look around you'll find some on here. I'm pretty sure I've seen some, and it didn't look quite right.

On my Mazda 3, I peeled the door moldings off and now people ask me if I have a Subaru Impreza LOL

Unfortunately when I took the moldings off, the paint was slightly darker underneath.

Thanks for paint fade, sunny southern Alberta!

what was the process you had to do to remove them?

Grab one end and peel. Done.

Took me like 2 minutes to do the whole thing.

With the Accords though, the moldings are held on my clips, so when you take them off, there's big holes in the door to fill in which is a pain in the ass.

shaved moldings look really good on our car, here is an example, kit-to-lip's old car:

IMO, it looks a little odd if you shave the side moldings and keep the bumper moldings, so i think it looks best if you shave the bumper moldings as well like slammed90ex-R did:

he also shaved his trunk though, and i'm not a huge fan of that

i did a photoshop of my car with no moldings, door handles, or roof rails (as well as a few other mods i'm planning) and i love how it looks

The green one is the only one that looks good with the moldings shaved. The others just look like something is missing.
