Alberta just got new ones. Well,not really new, just added a 4th number. They ran out of ABC 123 combos, so now they're using the ABC 1234 format, but the plates still look the same.
Ontario ran out of ABC 123 combos in 1999 and started issuing ABCD 123 plates which are ugly as hell. For 8 years, every passenger vehicle plate started with the letter A.
for the OP those new plates are pretty ugly i liked the old ones better...way better. every other state is getting new plate styles and what not we've had the same one for a long time. only thing they changed was from stamped plates to printed plates. but we've had 3 ID style changes from what i remember. but i hope Iowa doesn't get new ugly plates...
