verizon is putting everything they have behind the droid. too bad its not enough.

i would still rather have a tweaked out ip4 over a droid. better os/ui ftw.

You didn't actually just say that Iphones OS is better then Android did you?

The only way you could ever say this is by never using an Android device.

I do not hate iphones or Apple for wiw, but the iPhone's OS is not anywhere as capable as Android. Take a loot at Froyo(Android 2.2) and tell me the Iphone OS is better then that.

And on a sidenote, i don't like to take shots but honestly i don't remember an HTC/Google phone ever having a problem keeping calls when you hold it. The iPhone was a nice idea but it is just not the shit, it does a lot for most people, but it is not end all be all of phones.....again not that HTC/Android is but let's be fair.

And please remember that the video conferencing is only over WiFi.... cannot use it on 3G/4G etc.

Big factors in "better" are also familiarity, ease of use, and how well it satisfies a need. I don't need anything "better" than my iphone, therefore, it's the best there is for me.

It's like trying to talk my mom into buying a 300hp car... it's "better"... but not to her!

Since there's such a fervant rivalry between fans of each platform, it WOULD behoove Verizon to add the iPhone to their lineup. It won't cannibalize the Droid market all that much. It's like Best Buy selling Apple and Microsoft products.

If I can get unlimited data, I would switch to Verizon in an instant, but only if I can use my familiar iPhone. Switching to a new company AND a different phone doesn't interest me.

Well that's true 100% but in the end it is the same idea as Windows/Mac.

Windows is familiar and works(for the most part) and is pretty easy to use.

Then there is Mac/Linux. They are becoming more familiar but they were always cast aside as a second rate system or more for "geeks".

It is fact that Mac/Linux runs better then Windows 90% of the time. Im not saying what to purchase or use, you should always use what is more comfortable to you and suits your needs but i just am so tired of hearing people say that the iPhone is the superior phone when Android is such a strong OS and has right out of the box capabilities that the iPhone won't ever see(flash anyone?)

I had an IPOD touch and it was almost like an iPhone without SMS and telephony and while it had awesome features it wasn't anything special compared to the two android devices i had. When the iPhone recieved copy&paste i had already had that on my old school Blackberry 8800.

The only thing i do not like, however, is that HTC is releasing Android phones like crazy and it's kind of flooding the market.

Yeah, the iPhone is a special device. Singular, has it's own identity.

There are a handful of "Droid" phones now, and they have no identity to me.

The only thing I don't like about the iPhone/iPod is the way iTunes works. I HATE putting music on my phone. I want to drag and drop my MP3 files, dammit... not go through some resource-hogging program!

And an iPhone lets you add a new phone number/email/etc directly to an existing contact without copy & paste. BlackBerry STILL can't do that. There's probably always gonna be some things that one or two of the big three can do that the remaining can't.

I play my music on shuffle, but without a program like iTunes or whatever, I can never totally keep track of what all is on my iPhone/BlackBerry/whatever other device I'm using.

I guess I've never really made use of a large capacity device... the mp3 player i use is 512mb. My iPhone has 4 albums on it... 2 Descendents, 1 All, and 1 Slapstick. That's it.

This is a very interesting analysis. The video in the comments section is also amusing.

I have 745 mp3 and/or m4a's on my BlackBerry. I'm not even sure what half of them are.

                          oooh what Descendents album?!?!

Yea i would be lost without iTunes i must admit.

                          I have around 7k songs.

I have a classic ipod that is 160Gi and right now my entire library is backed up to it along with 2 full length movies and 205 music videos and it STILL has 100Gi left....best decision i ever made switching from a ipod touch to a classic.

And i have around a gig of random music on my phone in case i dont have my ipod on me and get stuck somewhere i have tunes to jam too.
