Its not profiling at all its jsut a random plate check to see if its used in crimes or to see if its stolen and such. Just go about your business and dont drive silly and you should be okay. If he pulls you over just do what he says and act cool talk to him and make sure you dont get caught riding dirty.

Could have matched a description of a vehicle used in a reported crime, or like said before, maybe just checking tags and stuff like that.
I got pulled over last week for the first time in 3 years. I had barely just gotten all my paperwork in order for my Jetta and everything was legit.
I drove around for 3 weeks in an insured, but unregistered Mazda 323. You have 14 days to licence a vehicle here. I was using my old plates, so if my plate got scanned, it would have come up registered to a Honda Accord, but it's on a 323, so that would send a red flag immediately.

The cameras on their trunks aswell as the cameras on the roof next to their lights they are a special unit autocrime. They make sure the car is legit and insured. They have them everywhere. They look like mini cameras but they are actually scanners.
You license plate has little reflective barcodes that they scan. It originated from the dmv like when they give them too you and when you hand them in they scan it. It also takes a mini picture of the darkened part which are the digits and the letters and then punches it up to inspect its legitmacy. The shit can read in about half a second thats how quick it is.
