In the photo mode, when you press Triangle to bring up the options menu, I think it's called "Panning" or something like that, with three options. The first one looks like crap at speed, the second two will give you what you see in my shot. I can't tell the difference between 2 and 3 though. I was trying to get the background to blur better, but that's the best I could manage.
I just beat the Fiat challenge at Tsukuba. A tip: it's a real lesson in steering control. Especially in cars this small and underpowered, your steering input makes a huge impact on the power being able to reach the wheels. Try to use as little lock as possible to get around each turn. "Use all of the track," as they say, and make wide turns to keep your speed up.
Ed. - Yeah, it's "Panning"
I love these cars.Last edited by CyborgGT; 12-23-2010, 06:23 AM.

anybody register for the online seasonal races yet? i got this email back and the prizes look really cool. i can't wait to see what other challenges they have next time around.
Thank you for registering for GT Academy, your chance to become a professional race car driver through Gran Turismo 5, exclusively on the PlayStation 3.
Based on the address you entered when you registered, you have been assigned to the Northeast region for the GT Academy competition. When you race, your lap times will be registered on this region’s leaderboards, which can be viewed in-game and at the official Gran Turismo website (http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/).
Round 1 of the GT Academy online tournament runs December 20, 2010 through January 23, 2011. The competition consists of a group of time trial events in Gran Turismo® 5, and you’ll need to race each event and post your fastest lap times to place on the leaderboards for your assigned region. The top 128 players per region as of January 23, 2011, will be moving on to Round 2 of the competition.
Weekly prizes for the top 20 times on the combined national leaderboard will be awarded through January 23, including Gran Turismo 5 posters, Logitech Driving ForceTM GT racing wheels, and Playseat Revolution racing seats. And just for racing in the GT Academy time trial events, you can earn free GT Academy digital content for your PlayStation®3 system.
The top 8 players per region will be flown to the National Finals event to face off for one of 16 spots in GT Academy. Those 16 finalists will compete in a series of grueling physical and mental challenges. This includes going behind the wheel of actual Nissan cars to practice and prove their driving skills. Along the way, participants will be eliminated, because there can be only one winner in GT Academy who goes on to train to become a real professional race car driver. The stakes are high. Good luck!
For complete tournament details and official rules, visit http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/academy/2011/. Be sure to follow GT Academy on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/GTAcademyNA to stay up to date with the latest GT Academy news and updates as the competition unfolds.

I don't have a chance of winning, if my Time Trial lap times from Prologue were anything to judge by. I was always around 800-1,000th. Much better on a couple, but I'm sure those were just less popular cars. I don't want to become a pro racer anyway (for one, I'm the quiet type and hear doing interviews is something of a prerequisite to the career and I think too straightforward to say more than what's necessary to get my point across... journalists ask stupid questions) I followed the original GT Academy, in Europe, fairly closely. The winners ended up competing in a 24 hour race, one of them going on to be pretty good in the short time he's been racing since Prologue. It was definitely interesting.

Crap, I did the Fiat race the hard way too. The tire req's said Comfort Med or less... soft, which equals more grip, should be 'more,' no? I used mediums. More races have been added though. I like that the developers know money isn't easy to come by and is handing out such nice rewards for these simple races.
I work the next two days, so I've gotta try to squeeze in some evening play time to finish off the Races and Time Trials. But hey, working holidays means more pay!
