while i was at the fucking lake!!!! stole my radio and shift knob. im going to fucking kill some one right now this is the most bullshit i have had with this car! so much for park rangers paroling the fucking parking lot. useless piece of shit!!!!! I can not describe how angry i am right now.

i hope they did not break the window again, that sucks. i get nervous everytime i hear any noise outside my apartment, although i have nothing in my car that even i think is worth anything. i hope everything gets better for you

no alarm yet. face plate was off the stero, and dont normally think about taking my shift knob off when i get out of the car. looks as though they used a slim jim and took their time taking everything out(found face plate). nothing around the stereo trim was broken no wires cut either. they also went threw my glove box and jacked my stock shift knob as well they even re-locked the doors for me.

even if you dont get an alarm, get a LED and wire one side to poistive at all times and one side to a ignition switched positive. it's better than nothing.

Haha it's funny you mention that because I have an LED wired up to flash as soon as the key is taken out of the ignition because I didn't feel like getting an alarm on this car

I don't want to whore up the thread, but as far as the radio situation.. I didn't try this with my CB but I've done this with my Sonata and Tiburon.. (copy and pasted some of my post from my Tiburon forum)

Remove stock radio and take off faceplate to examine and take a picture so you remember which buttons go where


Take all of the buttons out and trim as much width of the radio as you can, I dremeled infront of the line that goes all the way around the faceplate and trimmed off the random high points of the back and around the tape deck door.

Use some hotglue to hold all of the buttons in place. For the two round knobs (not pictured) I actually had to dremel them in half to be as slim as the rest of the buttons. To hold them in place I placed some aluminum foil on the back and filled the holes from the front and put the knobs in place, then hotglued around the foil on the back to hold it in place.


For the cd slot and radio display I just got some black paper and placed it behind and glued (see finished product) Find a fabic to cover the back so you dont scratch anything up when putting it in and taking it out. (might want to wait until you test fit everything first just encase you have to trim more)

I had to modify the dash kit (the thing that actually holds the radio and bolts to the car) to make it slimmer in the front also (somewhat of a pain in the ass)

Install radio and check to see if the faceplate fits right so it's not poking out too much looking obvious to theives, if not dremel more lol. I'm able just to set it ontop of the center console trim and fits just fine.

I then cut some fabric and glued it to the back to prevent scratching anything

It's was looking a little rough when I took those pictures because I had just finished it up, it's been cleaned up since then. Not sure if this will help anyone but I figured I'd try lol

thats an awsome idea, i still have my stock radio too.

yes we were out at the lake for memorial day BBQ'ing and having a good time. till we came back to the car.

and thanks lee, but my buddy just gave me a stock one this morning, so im set for now. and im going to wait on a radio till i can get the one i want and an alarm at the same time.
