lol, if it wasnt worth trading I wouldn't have taken it.
Needs a new windshield and shifter bushing rebuild kit.
From there I'm ordering 5000k H4 HIDs, OEM amber bumper fogs, crystal red/smoke tail lights (like our red/clears),aftermarket steering wheel, clean up the engine bay and the whole car.
Might upgrade the front speakers. My roommate has some JL 6" components and an MTX 600w amp and 10" Rockford sub he can sell me, as the car is already wired for a stereo.
It's not the fastest thing on the road, but it sure does feel like a rally car.

it's the supercharger that came on corrado G60. G60 is the name of the G-ladder technology.
it's actually a piece of shit but if you dont drive it a lot, then it is okay. basically it has a timing belt that needs to be replaced every two years and needs to be rebuilt every 30k. with a cam, chip and some other supporting mods it can produce around 220hp. not bad for a primitive 8v engine.Comment

mines a weekend car so i dont mind have the supported mods. otherwise, goto your vr6 swap which is a little bit more reliable. they still have its own set of issues and it will make the car very front heavy.Comment

Yes it's my DD and only mode of transportation. The motor in it pulls VERY strong. It's a torquey little bastard. It's got good pull through all the gears and I've already had it up to 112mph.
A turbo would be pretty sweet, but I don't think I'm really going to do a whole bunch of work to this car.
I do however, feel like I made a very worthy trade. It's annoying. Tonight I had a guy with a 91 Accord LX 5 speed come by so I could replace his exhaust. He left the car with me so I could do it and when I was done I took it for a rip around the block.
Man,if I SE had a 5 speed in it from the beginning I'd never have gotten rid of it. Those automatics are pure GARBAGE.Comment

you know, i'd figure if anyone was doing a motor rebuild they would at least clean it up nice and shiny. looks good though. take it for a test and see if you havent already.
the only thing i hate about jettas is the rear. the front is so sexy but the back...its just so bleh lol.

it was rebuilt atleast 2 years ago. The guy I got it from said he had th ecar about a year and the motor was just rebuilt before he bought it.
However, just from looking at things in the engine, you can tell the motor has definetly been out.
As for the rear end, I'll be spicing it up with the crystal red and smoke tails....and that's about all you can do with these cars lol.Comment

ive been a vw fan for yrs, ive owned 3, and did a auto to 5 spd swap on one. easy to work on, killer mods and sick looking front ends. gots me thinkin about getting another jettaComment
