    I need to quit smoking.

Just as the title says, I really need to quit smoking.

I quit when I turned 20 with no problem.. but once I came back here I started up again. Just stressing out a lot got me hooked on it again.. the whole car drama, being away from the girl of my dreams, and just being so far away from everything.

It's nice here though, I can't complain. Up in the 70's all this week.. so it's better than Ohio but I started working out again and about died.

I really need to quit.. working out and smoking isn't going good together. :thumbsdow

Word, smoking sux0rs. I quit, and I want to start again (stressful times) but my girl always helps me out so I don't really have much to worry about.

Quit dude, then start working out, smoking owns your respiratory systems. :thumbsdow

Yeahh smoking is a tough habit to kick especially when you're stressing about all kinds of BS. I've been there done that. When your car is down it freaking sucks. All good though, I'm down to one cig a day now since I've started working out now. I'm sure you can kick the habit if you really wanted to. Good luck with it man.

I smoke sometimes more than a pack a day, especially when i'm drinking. I am thinking about working out again like you guys but i havn't hit the gym in almost 2 years. What are you all doing to help quit? It's really fucking hard!!!!

I'm sorta glad I never started with cigarettes, but I've kinda been on this cigar trip lately.

I just smoke Black & Mild cigars when I drink on the weekends. I never crave one during the week or when I'm not drinking.

Never started wtih cigarettes and I'm glad. I have smoked one or two when I ran out of cigars while drinking. I could see how those can become addicting.

Ive smoked Camel ultra lights for about 5 or 6 years now. When I get a wild hair I'll pick up a pack of Marlboro menthol ultralights.

Get a punching bag. That's what helped me out at first. Take out some fustrations and it's fun. I'm too busy hitting the bag to think about smoking. Hahah. And another thing that helped out a lot was that I totally quit smoking in my car.

suP jdmTwin, umm, I use to smoke about a pack a day 3 years ago, and eventually I curbed the habit. To be honest, smokers are generally impulsive people, to bite the habit you might want to try to be less impulsive in your daily life. Instead of rushing out to buy something immediately, take your time, and you'll see a decrease in ur smoking intake. Also, it's difficult, i know, BEYOND difficult, but try and steer clear of alcohol and bars for a awhile. I know that was a killer for me, being around beer, mixed drinks, and a cigarette. Don't forget the main reason, you'll die sooner.

                    WOW
All good advice. I've been a Newport smoker for a while.(about 10 years and i'm only 27). I tried to quit a while back by switching to Black and Milds, but i had to dead those cuz they started to make me shit everytime i sparked one. Now i can't even smell one burning nevermind taking a draw. I also went thru a "Beedie" stage. All my hood peeps know about the Ganesh Beedies. Them shits is killer, but i had to put them down when they started commin in flavors and shit. They totally flipped the script.

I just got it in my mind on the 31st (that Friday night) while on my back porch that i was gonna quit. Here we are 20 days later and i'm still clean. The fact that i started goin to the gym again helps. My girl also helps, but the biggest thing is wantin' to MAKE SURE that i see my daughters grow-up. I can't whup no "potential boyfriend" ass if i've got no wind nahmean!

This is true.. it is hard to quit. I have no problem quitting but smoking tends to relax me at times like these when I am really stressed out.

On my 20th birthday, I put my pack of cigs away and didn't smoke one until just last week or so.. but it's hard when every day has stress in it.

                              Trust me dawg,
quit while you're ahead. Save money. I remember when i used to pay 1.50 for bogies. if it's only been three years, QUIT NOW. I'm sure all current and former smokers will agree with me here.
