texas fire academy

anyone here ever go there, or know anyone whos been?

the fire fighter academy there is 2500$....or i can do the one in my city wich is 10,000$...

the question i have is that while there, do i spend 18 weeks living there at the fire hall training center? or do i need to find my own place to live for 18 weeks???

if anyone knows anyone whos been can you please ask them for me?
