good idea but the surface is plexi-glass i dont think chalk sticks to that very well

Nah yo, they got these markers to write on em. Used them when I was working as a waiter. I forget what brand they are. Just go to a restaurant or bar with one of these boards and ask em.....which begs the question why you didn't do that in the first place
