I think it should also be noted that IF your signature is removed:
Don't whine to use because you lost your forsale link location, or something specific that you wanted from your signature is now gone.

This issue was mentioned a couple of weeks ago as Deev said, and it has also been written in the Rules forum for 2 weeks now.

Just had a quick look through the classifieds at 4 random threads and already found 3 members which will have their sigs altered if they don't do it themselves.

A "Finished" project car is never finished until its been sold.

If at first you don't succeed, Try again. Don't give up too easily, persistance pays off in the end.

Along the lines of what Tippey said, is it acceptable to say "I have such and such a part (if you need it)/are looking for it)" in someone's thread? You're not offering a price or trying to make a sale. Just throwing the info out there that you have a particular part they need and they can contact you via PM or whatever and make the transaction outside of the forum.

Just wondering, because I have a bunch of stuff for sale in the classifieds, but it's a few pages back and I don't see the need to add bump posts to it all the time. So if someone is looking for or needs something, all I ever say is "I have that particular part" and by wording it that way, trying to follow the rules.

Acceptable or no? If not, understandable. IMO, I beleive it's just trying to help someone who needs something. However, they should be intelligent enough to use the classifieds themselves, which is the whole point this thread was made, right?

I also find it sketchy buying and selling from new members. I've done business with a few people on here no problem, however I was sent money several weeks ago, purchased said parts for the member, yet have not had time to ship the parts and now they are complaining. I offered a full refund right away if that's what they wish, or they can wait til I have time to send them.

When I sell stuff, I'm just trying to help someone else out so they can get what they want or need, not because I'm hungry for money.

No. You are telling them that you have a part for sale and to PM you to discuss price/condition/etc.
Even though you're not selling in that particular post, you are advertising it.
If you want to make a transaction outside of the forum, there's always Craigslist, eBay, and many other of the type.

I wouldn't suggest Craigslist. Do Ebay. That way, if something goes wrong, the buyer has some recourse.

If you have something that would help another member out, you may direct them to your Classifieds thread, OUTSIDE of the Beginner forums. Perhaps this is being too lenient, but I agree... if you have it, and someone needs it, it's unfair to say you can't let them know. However, keep all discussion regarding the transaction in the thread.

Oh, and if I EVER see anyone hassling another member in their Members Rides thread about a sale, that member will be banned. That is extremely rude.

Basically, dont sell or link anything in the Beginner's Forum. Even to actual members.

If a (30+ posts) member needs a part, PM them or bump your FS thread.

Basically, unless it's in a PM or in your own FS thread, dont tell people "Oh, ive got that FS".

I don't suggest conducting business via PM, though. Do it in public, so there's a record of the transaction. If things get bad and you need to get the authorities involved, then a record will help you. PMs can be deleted, and they cannot be recovered.

But we still can't be up front though. Or can we?

Like everyone else is saying, if we see "WTB: ____ part" and we have that part FS, do we:

                  a) Tell them we have said part and PM them
                  b) Link them to our FS thread
                  c) Both
                  d) None of the above

WTB threads are located in the Classifieds section. You can openly discuss it there.

                      Ok.

So you're basically jus trying to get Buy/Sell discussion into the Classified sections only. And outside of that, it's just links to FS threads in sigs or bumping FS threads on the board.

                            Exactly.

If you look in the Ebay section of the Classifieds section, you'll see a thread that shows you exactly how to set that up.

just so I'm clear...I get the no sig with "I have xxx's for sale"

but it goes the same for say parts you are looking to buy and using your sig to say so...such as
"I'm needing f22a6 intake parts" or "looking for some kit kat bars" in the sig...correct?

                                And the sneeky way:
"only need red/clears to finish the project"
                                ____
