*** The unofficial "Content Aware" Before/After Pic Thread ***

it might get moved, but i figured it'll get more action from everyone in here. As more and more people get cs5, i figure this might get to be fun for everone to participate in. Recently, i've been looking at pics, just to see if i could "C-A" them.

i'll get it started with another wedding pic. this one was on the request of my wife. she wants to make a large print of it to be framed.

    before

removed background, cleaned up cake, removed spots on rose

    after

im sure this could be done by hand, but not as quickly. not to mention, im not much of a photoshop guy. that filter makes it so much easier.

Ya this is an awesome thread.

I had just dl, i mean bought CS5 the other day and started seeing this CA stuff and was confused about what it meant.

I looked it up on youtube and was blown away.

So here is my submission to this thread.

BTW- i use to do this pre-cs5 but this tool is amazingly easy and quite accurate.

No need to appologize sometimes i got it sometimes i dont lol.

Anyways i think at first glance its good but when you really look you can see it.

If you never saw the before pic would you really know it was chopped?

                        Maybe i don't know.

That was my first one with the new tool and also there was no pole there because the people were there so i had to add one lol. There is suppose to be on there.

Man if you can do this as well as cs5 on your own, thats more skills then just using a tool.

There are a few peeps who could swing it on here.

If I never saw the original and I saw the "after", I would just say "why the hell is that post a different color and crooked". It sticks out like a sore thumb, that's for sure.

It's good for lazy people and to get a workable product when you need to fill in very large areas. For stamping out a few people here and there I'd rather just just use the clone stamp tool. At least then I know excatly what I'm doing and what it's sampling.

From everything I've seen, this does much better with natural environments (smooth, rolling shapes) versus man-made and rigid structures (buildings, sidewalks, light poles, ect.)

Of all the videso I think this one shows the most useful and powerful functions of Content Aware
