    dumb question

If the dust boot on the caliper leaked about two oz of fluid when the piston was pushed back in is that brake fluid or lubrication for the piston

What is it leaking? They're two different substances... hydraulic fluid and lubricating grease aren't very similar. Hydraulic fluid isn't used for lubrication... so if that's leaking, your caliper is in dire need of a rebuild.

Well I couldn't tell.. It looked like diluted grease(grease and water possibly). It could be brake fluid though. So when a caliper fails it will leak through that piston.

There isnt any grease on the piston itself. The only grease in a caliper is on the slides. If anything was leaking out around the piston you need to rebuild it ASAP
