My question is could you do this without the new Photoshop, and if so, how long would it have taken you?

The one with with your neice is actually the easier of the two. the wedding one would take a bit of time to get the drapery done properly.
It took me 5 minutes to do this one. Cloning the grass isn't too bad, you can get away with not having to be perfect because it is so random.
You may notice in your CA rendering it choose to use more of the shorter yellowish grass. In mine I chose to use the green stuff. If I was doing this for a customer I probably would have gotten rid of all of the yellow (burnt) grass.
So the CA is definitely much faster..lol What computer are you using, and have you noticed if the CA tool is a memory hog or not? aka Are you able to use other programs while CA is rendering images. Even with my G5 w/2g ram. I always ran into a few memory issues when Photoshop was rendering if you had Illustrator or Indesign operating at the same time.Last edited by GhostAccord; 05-11-2010, 08:04 AM.

It's not much of a hog at all. I don't notice resources being affected more with cs5 than any other app I might be using. I've been running iTunes in the back as well as playing a HD mkv file for m daughter on the 2nd monitor while messing with ps, and I'm not close to running out of resources.
On a lot of computers CA calculations might take longer. I'm running 4gb ddr3 and a quad ph2 @3.7ghz
And yes, there will always be fine tuning after running CA, but it does give you a kickass starting point.
